A Legend Has Passed

Marion Lightbourn, mother of Coldwell Banker Lightbourn Realty president Mike Lightbourn, died peacefully at her home in Nassau on July 14. She was 96.

Mrs Lightbourn, “Mallie” to her friends, lived a full and remarkable life - even up until last year she was involved in charity work, her church and a busy social scene.

One of the highlights of 2013 was a good chat with the Prince of Wales at a reception held at St. James Palace in London (see photo).

Mallie lived in London, but wintered in the Bahamas to spend time with her three sons – Mike, Richard, a Member of the House of Assembly, and Tim, a businessman, as well as her grandchildren and friends.

For many years, Mallie took part in the annual Canterbury Pilgrimage, a 74 mile hike from the steps of St Martin-in-the-Fields to Canterbury Cathedral, to raise funds for the homeless.

She continued on this amazing journey until about six years ago!

She is survived by her sons, as well as family and friends too numerous to mention.
