Does Your Bahamas Home Have One?

Poinciana

June is one of the most beautiful months of the year in the Bahamas and if your home comes with a Royal Poinciana or mango tree, consider yourself lucky.

The recent rains have given way to the magnificent orange and red Poinciana blossoms.

The islands of Nassau and Exuma, in particular, are ablaze with these magnificent blossoms.

The mangoes are hanging heavy and ready for the picking.

Our favourite way to eat a mango is in the sea with the sweet juice bursting with each bite.

The temperature of the sea is perfect for lounging in the water and enjoying mangoes and the sweet, luscious pineapples grown on the island of Eleuthera.

This is a great time to entertain in our Bahamas homes.

We love tossing chunks of mango and fresh pineapple into salads or on the grill and making homemade coconut and mango ice-cream.

Our island homes are dressed with Poinciana spilling out of clear cut glass vases with the sweet perfume of tropical fruit from our kitchen baskets.

If you're buying a home in the Bahamas, mature fruit trees and Poinciana trees are wonderful additions.
