Bahamas Home Maintenance - After the Rains

The recent rains have turned our gardens into a lush tropical oasis and transformed them into inviting outdoor living spaces.
One of the downfalls of the rain, however, is the amount of mildew that may have accumulated on the porch ceilings of our Bahamas homes or roof overhangs.
This is a good time of year to give these areas of your home a good cleaning, especially as the holiday season is just around the corner.
While it's tempting to spray bleach on these areas for a quick clean, consider using non-toxic cleaners or natural agents, such as white vinegar.
Bleach and a lot of household cleaners are not only harmful to your health, but the run-off can kill grass or flowering plants, leaving brown spots on the nice green lawn.
Consider the environment when you maintain your Bahamas real estate.
