The dazzling blues and turquoises of the Sea of Abaco pull us to this beautiful chain of islands in the northwest Bahamas time and time again.

Abaco conjures up visions of beautiful white sand beaches, pretty historic villages, fantastic fishing and an amazing barrier reef.

Evening brings out a softer side of the Abaco islands when the bright sun dips towards the horizon and the sea changes from a myriad of shades of dazzling blue to steel grey.

Many of the Abaco homeowners who live on the satellite cays ride the ferry to the mainland and look forward to the quiet evening commute back to their idyllic village homes.

There are no traffic jams, no crowds jamming onto the ferry, hoping to get a seat in a rush hour crush of madness.

Just a friendly greeting from the captain, smiles from fellow passengers and the music of the wind and the sea.
