The Bahamas government's announcement that it's going to spend over $3 million to improve Potter's Cay is music to the ears of Paradise Island real estate holders.

Potter's Cay is the area of land located under the Paradise Island exit Bridge.

The colourful cay is home to harbour side native eateries, a farmer's market and the mail boat terminal and out island fishing fleet.

Actually, work has already started to bring order to the cay that started out as a sleepy berth for the mail boats and has morphed into a busy harbor front.
.
The government plans to remove a lot of the vehicular traffic from the cay, make it more pristine and pedestrian friendly with landscaping and parking to the east.

The historic artillery, built in the 1700s to protect the harbour, will be refurbished.

With Paradise Island real estate at a premium, this will be a fitting gateway to the island that hosts the world class Ocean Club Estates and Atlantis Resort.
