Hurricane Matthew is scheduled to pass through the Bahamas and all homeowners should be prepared.
If you live by the sea or in a low lying area, you are particularly susceptible to flood damage.
Stock up on water and supplies, including medicine, batten down and have an evacuation plan.
Boats need to be secured and, if necessary, vehicles should be moved to high ground.
Last year, Hurricane Joaquim sneaked into the Bahamas, catching many by surprise. There was widespread devastation on some of the islands and Long Island, in particular, is still recovering from that wicked storm.
Be proactive!
Protect your Bahamas real estate and above all, protect your life.
If you are in a position to do so, reach out to the elderly and less fortunate in your community or elsewhere.
