Exuma

THE EXUMAS when you visit something magical happens.

Robert Wilder felt it when he wrote Wind from the Carolinas, the story of the wealthy plantation owners who emigrated to Exuma after the American Revolution. It’s why world travelers like Jacque Cousteau, Jimmy Buffet, and the Royal Family have been lured to its shores.

This 365-island chain stands out as the jewel among Bahamian islands, its beauty difficult to match. Don't miss out! Buy Bahamas real estate in Exuma today.
A sea kayaking and sailing paradise, Exuma has deserted white sand beaches and gin clear waters in the most exquisite shades of turquoise imaginable.

The Cays (pronounced keys), as Bahamians call them, stretch over 120 miles. The two main islands – Great and Little Exuma – are located on the southern tip. Exuma is home to the Land and Cay Park, which is managed by the Bahamas National Trust. Created in 1958, this 176-square mile land and sea park is the first of its kind in the world and is famous for its virgin beauty, incredible anchorages and pristine, breathtaking marine environment.

The Exumas are known for their thousands of miles of beaches, sailing regattas and fishing. The economy of Exuma was built on cotton plantations, salt mines and piracy. Today tourism plays a leading role. Although much of the Exumas remain uninhabited, the cays are sprinkled with second homes. The Four Seasons has opened the five star Emerald Bay Resort and Golf Club on Great Exuma.

Bahamas Real Estate in Exuma has increased in price as that chain of islands has become very popular.
