Don't Squeeze the Mango

Oh, July! The month of sweet and luscious sun-ripened mangoes. How we love to sit in the salty sea to eat a mango with the sugary juice dripping down our chins. The honeyed scent of mangoes wafts through our Bahamas homes, the fruit piled high in our kitchens in hand woven straw baskets to be worked into any number of recipes. From jams, breads, cakes and smoothies to curry, salsas and salads – and a hundred things in between. Did I mention daiquiris and margaritas? A Bahamas home just isn't complete without a mango tree.
