Bahamas - No Swine Flu

First the U.S. real estate crisis, now the Swine Flu scare. What next?
For the Bahamas, the good news is that so far, they've been no confirmed cases of swine flu and the Ministry of Health is monitoring the situation closely.
With the World Health Organization raising the swine flu pandemic threat level to phase five, Minister of Health Dr. Hubert Minnis is confident the Bahamas would be able to handle any level of health scare, according to the Nassau Guardian.
"We know that at present we do not have any local influenza H infection and, therefore, we will be monitoring our ports and this type of thing is not just because of what is going on now, but we will always be prepared no matter what the health scare is," he says.
Bahamas real estate agents are keeping an eye on the situation to see what impact – if any – the swine flu scare will have on travel by potential second home buyers.
If you are interested in selling or buying real estate in the Bahamas, including the islands of Abaco, Exuma, Eleuthera, Harbour Island, Spanish Wells (and elsewhere), but are concerned about traveling at the moment, give us a call (or drop an email) to find out what the situation is down here.
So far, so good.
