It's prime Bahamas real estate, situated on gated Queen Street, three doors away from the U.S. Embassy and in the heart of downtown Nassau.
The well maintained, Colonial two storey building comprises 1,774 sq. ft. plus 936 sq ft of covered porches.
The prestigious Hilton Hotel stands a stone's throw away at the juncture of Marlborough and Queen Streets, and shops, restaurants, law firms and banks are all within walking distance.
Enclosed grounds of approximately 7,000-plus sq. ft, provide potential parking for eight to 10 cars at the rear. There are currently five parking spaces.
And Mike Lightbourn, president of Coldwell Banker Lightbourn Realty, said the property is exceptionally well priced at $650,000.

‘This is a rare opportunity for someone to own a unique piece of real estate in a highly desirable location,” Lightbourn said.
Garrison House is located within a collection of old Bahamian residences that nestle in the secure gated environment of Queen Street.
All rooms are wired with up to date telephone and LAN wiring distribution systems and make the property suitable for an office, or a modern high-tech home.

Garrison House was home to the officers serving at Fort Nassau, which was built in 1697 and is now The Hilton Hotel.

The Fort was destroyed around 1703-04 in a surprise attack by a combined Spanish and French force. The Deputy Governor is said to have been feasting, the fort neglected and without a garrison. The town was sacked and burned, the fort destroyed and its guns spiked, and the inhabitants expelled. The Fort was later rebuilt.

Many of the original features of Garrison House have been preserved and restored to offer an outstanding residence or office, with all of the charm and grace of yesteryear. Garrison House was the Bishop of New York's winter residence during the early 19th century.

And if you're into intrigue, consider this. The grounds are said to harbour a major Bahamas historical secret. The seller says that the secret will be revealed to the successful buyer.
