Selling Bahamas Real Estate with an Open House

Once you select a Bahamas real estate agent to represent you, they'll often want to stage an Open House.

This allows other Bahamas Real Estate Association brokers and agents to view your home and put it in their database.

One of your agent's jobs is to expose your home to the widest number of realtors and to invite them to help secure a buyer here in the Bahamas.

Your agent and others in the profession will already have a list of prospective purchasers with details of what they're looking for.

In order to recommend your home to a prospect, real estate agents and brokers will need to take a thorough tour of it.

Open Houses are an easy and convenient way to put your home on the front burner.

Your Bahamas real estate agent will first need your permission to hold an Open House.

Assuming you agree, the agent will make all the arrangements for the Open House. Your job is to make sure your home and garden sparkle and is staged for the Open House. This will include de-cluttering your home and perhaps storing some of your furniture.

Your agent should be able to offer valuable advice on the above.

The cooperating agents may want to take their own photographs for their personal marketing efforts, so make sure to store any valuables you don't want appearing in print ads or on websites.

Vendors should not be present during Open Houses (or showings for that matter). It inhibits a free flow of dialogue and your Bahamas real estate agent will want to be aware of any criticism so the two of you can work on rectifying any negative perception that may arise.

Do not not take offence at any negative feedback your realtor may relay to you. Rather, welcome it as an opportunity to correct a problem at the outset.
