Get out the blankets and make the tea, us island people are shivering!
Temperatures dipped into the low 60s (F) in Nassau this morning, sending us diving for the covers. Is this normal for December? No!
Is it welcome? Well, kind of. It gives us a chance to pull out our odd assortment of sweaters and jackets, mismatched though they may be, and to enjoy the chill of a winter morning.
But what's 60 degrees when Syracuse , New York, recorded non-stop snow – over a foot - for 72 hours? You may even say things are balmy in the Bahamas, compared to the bitter cold up north.
This is the sort of weather that sends snow birds south to look at Bahamas real estate. The Bahamas plays host to a large second home population and every winter, we welcome our friends from the north to share this beautiful season with us.
This weekend, second home owners will be basking in the sun enjoying a tall, cool drink as temperatures are expected to climb to a high of 80 by Sunday.
