
The legend of the rocks at
Three Sisters in Exuma is as touching as the area is beautiful.
It goes like this: An English captain came to the Bahamas to hunt for treasure. He had to take shelter from a storm at Great Exuma. There he met three beautiful sisters and each one fell in love with him. When he and his crew finally set sail, each sister jumped into the sea to try and swim his ship down.
They all drowned.
A rock sprung up at the location of each drowning. Thus, the Three Sisters were born.
