It looks like Sandy's going to disrupt our weekend in the Bahamas with tropical storm force winds, or stronger, starting between Thursday and Friday. Expect tons of rain.
Everyone should be well advanced in hurricane prep work. Remember to secure all outdoor items that can become flying objects and people living in low lying coastal areas should move to higher ground.
Stock up on water and food - canned goods, if you don't have a generator. Make sure you have any medicine you may need within reach.
Remember to open a window or door on the lee (sheltered) side to relieve pressure in the house.
Public schools will close in the Bahamas tomorrow and Nassau International Airport is scheduled to shut at 10am Thursday.
Be safe and best of luck to our friends in Cuba, Jamaica,
Hispaniola and the U.S.
