There are lots of places to visit, including my favorite, The Glass Window Bridge, which spans a sliver of land north of Gregory Town (home of the fantastic Surfer's Beach). The bridge is made up of striking rock formations and spans the cliffs on this extremely narrow piece of property. The rocks plunge until they are almost divided in half. To one side, there's the turbulent Indian blue Atlantic and on the other, the shallows shimmer turquoise.
Believe me when I say that Eleuthera Island is a gem – heaven on earth.

Am I biased? Probably.
I visited Eleuthera every summer as a child. As a teenager, I enjoyed the thrill of body surfing at Surfer's Beach, settlement hopping, exploring beaches and caves, diving on the coral reefs and sinking my teeth into the sweetest, most juicy pineapples in the world.
