This long weekend, we're heading off to Rose Island – home of this incredible real estate
offering – to hoist the Bahamas flag in celebration of our 38th year of Independence.
The beauty of Rose Island is it's just a 15 minute boat ride from Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, but it's another world.
Rose Island real estate is fantastic.
Far away from the fast paced city of Nassau, Rose Island is an 11-mile stretch of beach-studded tranquility, surrounded by the crystal clear sea of the Bahamas.
It's a carefree environment that brings out the child in all of us.
Wherever you are this weekend, they'll be celebrations throughout the islands. If you're in Nassau, you'll want to check out the spectacular firework display at Clifford Park midnight Saturday as we move into our 38th year of Independence on July 10th.
This is where the Union Jack was lowered for the last time and a new nation was born.
Today the Bahamas is a member of the British Commonwealth. Although we cut our Colonial ties with Britain in 1969, we've retained a lot of the British flavor of old and our parliamentary democracy is modeled after the Westminster system of government.
Anyway, our office will be closed from 5pm Friday to Tuesday morning, July 12.
Got to dash to pack the ice chest.
Happy Birthday, Bahamas!
