The all-inclusive Sandals chain is interested in the Emerald Bay resort in Exuma Bahamas, according to The Tribune of Nassau.
Sandals is among the remaining bidders in negotiations with the receivers, PricewaterhouseCoopers.
This would be great news for the Bahamas island of Exuma, which took an economic blow when the beautiful Four Seasons operated resort closed earlier in the year.
The resort sits on the most gorgeous Bahamas real estate. It fronts Ocean Bight, arguably one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bahamas. Exuma is a quiet, laid back island studded with beaches and quaint villages. It attracts the rich and famous, some of whom have second homes, and lots of boat people.
The Tribune reports that Sandals executives have been spotted in Exuma several times. Sandals and Gordon ‘Butch' Stewart, owner of the Jamaican based hotel chain, have interests in Exuma through their Royal Plantation chain, a planned 21-villa property on nearby Fowl Cay.
They also own
Sandals Royal Bahamian
in Nassau Bahamas.
The Royal Bahamian has been voted as Conde Nast magazine readers as a favorite. The opulent Five Star Diamond Resort marries opulence with Old World sophistication and a catching Caribbean energy.
