WestJet Airlines Ltd. announced what it calls its largest seasonal non-stop flight schedule, which includes the Bahamas.
The Calgary-based airline will this fall start flying to a record eight new international destinations and three additional U. S. destinations for the winter of 2009-2010. Freeport, Bahamas; Lihue (Kauai), Hawaii; Miami,;and Atlantic City, N. J.
West Jet already provides service to Nassau Bahamas from Ontario. If you're a Canadian and want to look at Bahamas real estate, West Jet is a great way to travel. The crew's always quick with a joke and the fares are very competitive.
Chris Avery, WestJet's VP of revenue and planning, said, ""We're still in the early growth stages of our expansion into the Caribbean and into Mexico," where WestJet has less than 10 per cent market share. He continued, "We feel there's good growth opportunities for us to increase our share profitably into the Caribbean and Mexico."
Service to Bahamas expands starts Nov. 2, 2009.
