The Valley Boys (above) danced their way to victory in the 2013 New Year's Day Junkanoo Parade on Bay Street in the heart of Nassau, Bahamas.

What a party it was! It started at midnight when the sky from the west on Cable Beach to east of Paradise Island became a celestial –like sensation as fireworks painted the sky.

The cruise ships, yachts and mail boats rang in the New Year with a mighty crescendo of horns and then Bahamians and visitors took to the streets to celebrate Junkanoo.

Now that the festivities are over, this is a good time to lay the foundation to make your New Year's resolution of home ownership come true.
